I, too, suffer with excessive sweating (mostly face & back)-- it does cause anxiety and ruins many events. It is easy to feel helpless. HOWEVER, I want to say to James (and everyone else here...) that you CANNOT give up looking for the right answer. Sometimes, when all hope seems lost, the answer will just present itself. Be proactive and keep looking (internet, doctors, supposed remedies/medicines, etc)... and NEVER give up hope. The answer is out there. Life is too short and too precious. And, James, please know that your own child would love your hugs (even sweaty!) and probably never even think about it. Don't automatically deprive yourself of life's greatest joys (like children), thinking you are not worthy. EVERYONE is worthy and deserving of joy... Keep your head up, and go out there and find it. You are a child of God... Let your light shine! :-)

I have been an excessive sweater over 25 years since the age of 8. I have attempted suicide because of it and I intend still to exit if it doesn't go away. Every day I am swimming in sweat, covered in a thick sticky layer of it, from my head to my feet, and it drips onto the floor. I look like I have emerged from a swimming pool. People have asked me if it is raining outside when I am indoors. It could land me in jail for causing a car crash because when I am driving it goes into my eyes and steams up my glasses so I cannot see. I cannot have children because I would cover my child with thick sweat if I picked them up and hugged them. I cannot use the London Underground or go into night clubs. I cannot work in an office because the humiliation of my soaking wet shirt is too much. I cannot sit on people's sofas because of the huge sweat stain permanently on my back. I feel sorry for everyone on here because it is a life ruiner.

I have a serious problem with sweating!! I hate it so much. When I'm talking to someone that I am not fond of, I'll get really nervous, and think, "am I going to say something stupid?" So, therefore, I sweat! Even a little walk from my room to the bathroom makes me sweat. In the winter, and it's really cold, I'll sweat from the walk that I'm taking. It gets worse when it's really hot out there. The sweating is all over, my back, my chest, my head, my armpits and my groin. Any suggestions? Any at all will help.

Hi there,
I too have had this problem for years. I sweat under my arms and had botox which didn't work but then made the slight sweating I had in my groin area a million times worse.
It's now a living hell. I have to change my underwear and trousers 3/4 times a day and dread going out.
I am fed up of having to wear black trousers and spend a fortune on vagisil deodorant just to make sure I don't smell.
I am at the end of my tether now and am getting married next year - how can I contemplate wearing a wedding dress!!!!!!!!

Hi,
I too have had all over body sweats for about 6 years. Its so embarrasing....I used dryclor but it irritated me like mad! i couldnt take the pain from it anymore, so i researched the web and i am now trying pro banthine tabs... so far so good, as long as i take them on an empty stomach! If i have eaten anytime within 3 hours they wont work but i love it!
I can now walk places and be calm like everybody else! i still get hot, and at times sweat a little,,, just like normal....so i give them a big thumbs up.....

Good luck everyone and hope the effects last on what we take to help, as it is like a nightmare when i get sweaty....:)

I HAD SWEATY FEET ALL MY LIFE AND AS A RESULT VERY SMELLY SHOES. I READ A MAGAZINE ARTICLE THAT SAID TO USE AN ANTIPERSPIRANT DEODRANT SPRAY AND A FOOT SPRAY ON THE BOTTOM OF YOUR FEET. IT WORKS LIKE MAGIC. NO MORE SMELLY FEET OR SHOES.

Hi all, just reading this has been a comfort, knowing I'm not alone. Have suffered from sweaty palms and feet for as long as I can remember and have at last done something about it! Started pro-banthine today, and have had the dry mouth, but would do anything
to stop it!
Hope u all find something that works! And hope this works
for me!

A lot of people who suffer from excessive sweating think that they suffer alone. Hyperhidrosis isn't very socially acceptable and the embarrassment can cause a sufferer to avoid people entirely. Thank you for starting up an online support group for people who sweat way too much, it really helps. A lot of people don't understand hyperhidrosis in the least. They think that you can just put on more antiperspirants or take more showers or do something to fix it when those things can easily irritate the skin further and make the problem even worse. It's important to find out exactly why excessive sweating is happening and do as much as you can to eliminate those causes.

Hi

I male and 33 years old. I am not overweight, exercise and eat a balanced diet and also like a few drinks on weekends.

I seem to have constant arm pit dampness and huge wet marks while at work, going out, dinner, friends etc etc. Its not uncommon to feel a huge drip run down the side of my body.

At home watching TV or sleeping I am DRY!! AND ITS GREAT

Is this a nervous thing? Do I sweat cause I am nervous, anxious, angry or excited ?? It is sooo frustrating , embarassing and ANNOYING!!! I just want to have a nice dry shirt for once.

I look at other blokes at work and think they have absolutely no sweat marks at all!!

Maybe I need to try botox?? But then where will the sweat go?

Cheers
